Destiny 2 - What is the epic Mystery Grab Bag - Festival of the Lost 2021?

The Festival of the Lost kicked off in Destiny 2 and the Epic Mystery Grab Bag is back. Last year it didn't contain anything interesting but it was tied to a Triumph so you had to do it at least once. This year doesn't seem to be the case.

If you're wondering what's in the bag, we've opened one so you don't have to. At the cost of 1300 Candy, you might expect to get something good for your endeavors, but dear Guardian, you would be wrong.

What is the epic mystery bag?

You can buy both the Epic Mystery Grab Bag and the Mystery Grab Bag from Eva in the courtyard. You'll need Candy to get them, with the Epic version costing 1300 Candy and the standard version costing 650 Candy.

We opened one and received the Princely Reward of the Legendary Rocket Launcher, so hardly a treasure. So, was the Epic Mystery Bag worth opening? Absolutely not. But we'll keep opening more to make sure they're bad value so you don't have to.

This is much the same as last year, when Grab Bags were filled with legendary gear that wouldn't shift your power level and assorted random junk. Could there be something good in the bag? Sure, but based on the recent drop rates in Destiny 2 it's highly unlikely it's worth the time investing to take them out.

I guess the way to get closer to them this year is that any spare Candy you have at the end of the event can simply be dumped in bags as a way to grow materials. Aside from that, there doesn't seem to be any major reason to try and get them right now.
